The Neffs National Bank is celebrating Community Banking Month throughout April 2014. The theme this year is “Celebrating Communities!” (click for more details). Every Friday we will be featuring various special events at the bank including, a visit from the “Easter Bunny”, Community Organization Displays, “Shred Event”, Customer Appreciation Day on April 25th to name a few. We are now accepting names for the sign-up list for the “Blood Drive” on April 11th. The Miller-Chilly LaSaverKeystone Bloodmobile will be at the bank from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. Call or stop by today to sign-up.
The coloring sheets for the children’s “Coloring Contest” will be available in the lobby and Drive-Thru beginning March 27th. In addition this year we are having an “Online Contest” for everyone with a valid email. Only entries submitted online through link here, “Bulletin Board” web page, or by navigating to “Contact Us” web page and following ”Online Rules” will be accepted. A Quilt top isn't really a quilt until it's sandwiched with batting and backing, quilted or tied, and bound around the edges.  This lost art is hard to come by, but at Union Lutheran Church they still quilt tops by hand, no machines

April 26:    The 6th Annual Schnecktucky Derby

Great Night of Fun and Entertainment, sponsored by Lions Club of Upper Lehigh. Saturday at Schnecksville Community Fire. Gates open at 5:30PM, Dinner at 6:00PM, and Post Time at 7:00PM. There will be 8 races, Friendly Para Mutual Betting, Raffles and Prize Giveaways. Special DERBY BONNETT contest: Wear your favorite derby bonnett and be eligible to win a NICE prize. All bonnetts win a prize.

How to Participate: Sponsor a Race for $200, Sponsor a Dinner $100, Buy a horse for $20(if your horse wins the race you win $120). Paddock Admission Pass and Dinner Buffet $20. Admission includes a spectacular two hour Dinner Buffet catered by Dickey's Barbecue Pit. This is a Bring your own beverage event.

May 04:    The 6th Annual Hunger Walk 2014 @ Slatington Rails to Trails  

Please join us as we walk 2 miles on the Slatington Rails to Trails. Friday, Registration begins at 1:45pm; walk to follow at 2:00pm; Walk will begin at the Northern Lehigh Food Bank in Emerald, continuing through Slatington and back again. Proceeds benefit the Allentown Fair Queen program. For the past 5 years, Lehigh-Northampton Pomona Grange #68 has been sponsoring the $1000 scholarship that is awarded to the Fair Queen. May 16 & 17: Relay For Life @ Northern Lehigh High School  

Relay For Life of Upper Lehigh County Event on May 16th & 17th at the Bulldog Community Stadium at Northern Lehigh High School from 4 p.m. Friday through 4 p.m. Saturday. Our local Relay area includes the school districts of Northern Lehigh, Northwestern Lehigh and Parkland.

For those who are not familiar with the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, basically it is a 24-hour event at which we Celebrate our cancer Survivors, Remember those loved ones who we've lost and Fight Back against this disease. At Relay we camp out, have entertainment, play games, walk and raise funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society. It is a fun and life-changing event that brings our entire community together in the fight against cancer.

I would also like to invite anyone interested in assuming a leadership role as a Team Captain or Committee /Chair Member to join us for our monthly meeting on April 16th, 6:00pm – 8:00pm, at the Northern Lehigh HS Library.
